ANIME CENTRAL

Anime Central is held in Chicago every May at the convention center in Rosemont.  Megatokyo and its creator Fred Gallagher have attended Anime Central for the past 4 years.  His first trip to Anime Central was in 1998 before he even began the Megatokyo web comic and he dragged Sarah along.  Each year has gotten bigger and better.  This year Megatokyo and MegaGear had a booth in the dealers room and Fred signed and sketched at the booth.  The highlight of the convention was the Megatokyo panel which always needs to be held in the largest presentation room that the hotel has.  Every year 800-1000 fans pack the room to ask Fred and other Megatokyo crew questions.  Just don't ask one of the TOP TEN MOST HATED Questions.  These include qestions like:

1.  What happened to Largo?
2.  Will Megatokyo be an animated series?

AMERICAN LIBRARY ASSOCIATION CONVENTION

The American Library Association Convention has got to be one of the largest professional conventions held in the world.  They actually hold two conventions a year.   The world is obviously overrun with librarians.  In 2005 it was held by the shores of Lake Michigan in downtown Chicago just a few hours from our home in Michigan.  Librarians are enthusiatic supporters of Megatokyo and Fred and Sarah are enthusiastic supporters of libraries.  Fred completed a poster for the American Library Association that highlights all the valuable services provided by libraries and librarians.

OTAKON

Everyone got a sneak peak of our new Boo plushie during the Megatokyo panel at Otakon.  The panel was a comedy of errors as usual.  No matter how much we prepare something always goes wrong.  Sometimes many things.  MegaGear had the the biggest booth ever at 20 x 10.   Fred sat at the booth and signed for the entire three days and there was always a line wrapped around booth.
